A Swedish Christmas

Each Christmas, the Young side, celebrate our family heritage. We celebrate Christmas the way some of our ancestors might. This year we chose our Swedish ancestors. We try to have the food they would eat around Christmas and do some of there traditions. Then we learn about some of our ancestors that come from that area. We learned about the Skoglund side this year. In Sweden on December 13th they celebrate St. Lucia. The oldest grand-daughter wears the wreath with candles all around the wreath. She then passes out the traditional St. Lucia buns with dinner. Anne got the honors this year and she did great! Do we look Swedish? Hello! check out my girls!
Luckily Anne didn't have real candles in her hair. That would be pretty scary if you ask me. Brad found this wreath with fake candles run by batteries. Here is Anne ready to pass out the rolls.
She fulfilled her duties perfectly. We had a great night at Brad and JanaLynn's!
