Anne's Birthday!

Her birthday finally came and she couldn't have been more excited. She is getting so big and is such a big help to me. She is a great sister and Eliza cries when Anne's not around. Actually, we all cry when Anne is not around because she is so much fun!!! She is still very shy and doesn't talk a lot around other people but, at home she is a little chatter box. We were so happy to celebrate her!!!
She had a Young party at Grandma and Grandpa Young's. She had fun playing with cousins and opening presents. Thanks everyone for making her party so much fun!

The morning of her birthday she got a new bike! It is pink, pink, pink and she couldn't be more happy. The weather has been so nice that she has had time to ride it outside and she is really good.

Anne with her cake. I wasn't too creative this year. But, she seemed to love the jellybeans and birthday sprinkles on the top.

On her big day she wanted her cousins to come play. Her best friends are her cousins! One cousin was sick and couldn't make it so it was Anne and Kate. They had so much fun and had a whole afternoon to play and have fun!
We love you Anne and we couldn't ask for a better daughter. Your smiles get us through our days and your laugh makes us all laugh with you.

Beating the Winter Blues

I don't know what it is about the first week in February but, every year I am so tired of winter by this point! I love the snow and cold during the holidays and then in January it's fun to go sledding and make a snowman. By February it is getting old and I would love to feel some warmer air! It seems I get a little slower and my skin is extra pale and white and it's easy to get down on things. So, thank goodness for kids and for their sweetness and funny things they say that get me through this time.

This past week Jason lost his two bottom teeth! His permanent teeth had already come up behind his baby teeth. We told him he looked like jaws and he didn't like that. So, one night he let Mike yank them out and he looks so much better. His teeth are huge and I don't know where in the world all his teeth are going to go. We are for sure going to be paying for some Braces for this kid! So, he put his teeth under his pillow and he got some money. He said with his money he wanted to go to the store and buy a candy bar. So, I took him to the store and I said he had enough money to buy 2 candy bars. So, he picked out one and then turned to Anne and said "Pick out the candy bar you want!" I said, " Jason don't you want both of the candy bars?" He said, "No I want to buy one for Anne." It was a very rewarding moment as a mother. He is the best kid.

Anne has been so sweet to me lately. Everyday she says something nice about me. She will say. "Mom I love your hair" or "Mom I like you shirt today" or "Mom you make the best food!" She has totally boost my self esteem! The other day she said, "Mom I want to help you today!" I said, okay what do you want to do?" She said, "I will organize your sock drawer." I thought okay this will not last very long. But, she totally organized my drawer and it looks fabulous still today thanks to Anne!

Eliza is into everything lately and I am having a hard time keeping up with her. Her favorite thing is to play in the bathroom especially the toilet and fling wet toilet paper on the walls. I will think I have all under control only to find she has destroyed the bathroom! She also has had some sweet moments the past couple of weeks. She will now give us kisses. This might sound odd but, she has never given Mike and I kisses. Finally this week she will walk over to us and give us a nice wet kiss on our cheek. PRICELESS!

So, because of these moments this last part of winter hasn't been so bad and I am glad to have these moments to remember when the winter blues do kick in!
