Fall Visitors!

We had some fun visitors from family this month.  Auntie Mare, Laura, and Bruce came down to Phoenix for a little trip.  We went out to dinner with them one evening and it was fun to talk and catch up!
Donald Trump made a visit to Arizona.  We tried to get in to see him speak, but the line to get in was miles long.  So, we bought a hat and called it good!
Josh's family came down for a couple of days we enjoyed having some cousins around.
We went to Papago Park to climb on hole in the rock and then we went to the zoo.

Lots of yummy food when guest come into town!

Chicago!

We finally made it to Chicago!  We found this fun AirBNB in the city.  It's was so fun to wake up in the morning with those views!
We went to the top of Willis Tower to really get some views!

Then we went out on that sky box which really freaked us all out.  We are all smiles in these pictures, but we were definitely ready to off that glass box!

We hung out in Millennial Park and checked out the Bean!

We walked down to the Chicago River and hung around the River walk.  We enjoyed some Ghirardelli  ice-cream here!  We also visited the American Girl Doll store and enjoyed dreaming of all the money we could spend on dolls!

The Cubs did not make the play offs this year so, no Cubs game for us...
We got some Chicago Pizza which was super yummy after walking all day!  The kids also got to experience riding on the L Train which was an adventure in it's self!
After dinner we went to Navy Pier to enjoy the sunset!

This was such a great trip for our family!  We strengthened our testimonies of Joseph Smith and of the church.  We enjoyed lots of time together in the car as we traveled to all these places.  Being in a big city was an adventure and we enjoyed our time there, but we were ready to get back to our quiet home in Arizona!

More Nauvoo

The Nauvoo Temple is so pretty.  It was closed for cleaning so we were not able to go inside, but the spirit is still strong on the grounds!

Looking at the Mississippi from the temple.

We visited a few more sites.  The printing press...
We also stopped at the seventies hall.  Mike's great great  Grandpa John Spiers was a seventy and lived in Nauvoo.  They had Mike and Jason read a script and John Spiers was mentioned in it!  That was really neat.  We then looked up his name in the book that had a list of those that were members of the seventy.

We then started the long drive up to Chicago.  Lots of car time on this trip so lots of laughs!
