Summer Fun

We had a fun afternoon with Grandma Schwitzer.  Grandma was watching the Geertsen cousins while Cathy and Tom were at Trek.  We missed Jason and Anne while they were at school but, enjoyed our time with Grandma!

Happy 70th Birthday Grandpa Young

 The best guy in the whole world turned 70!   We wanted to celebrate Dad and let him know how happy we are to have him in our lives.  Dad loves baseball and he loves the New York Yankees.  Erin, the party queen, came up with this cute baseball party and the details were so fun!

 We were so happy to have Rob and Jared here to celebrate his day.  All the guys went golfing in the morning together.

 The little kids wanted to play a game of red rover.  It was actually quite fun.

 We then had a family baseball game and it was fun to play and watch!

 The birthday boy!  I love this guy so much and I am so grateful he was born 70 year ago.  He doesn't like a ton of attention but, we were glad to celebrate him this day.

 That night we had an outdoor movie and watched the movie Sandlot.  Sandlot was filmed at the same baseball fields and area that my Dad grew up in.  It's fun for him to watch and remember the good old days.  Happy Birthday Dad!

State Meet

 The state meet was held down in Richfield this year.  So, Mike and Jason made the drive and survived the heat to compete in state.

 Track meets are long and pretty boring until it's your time to race.

 The team did great and came in third place.  Their goal as a team was to at least come in third so, we they were all happy!

Student of the Month

Anne was student of the month again for her class!  The months theme was dependability and Anne is one dependable person.  I rely on her a lot and she helps him a ton with Lucy.  She also is very good at doing her homework and reading without being asked.  I love that about her!  Nice work Anne!

We'll Be Loyal Scouts

 Jason earned his Webelos badge and we are very proud of him.  He is on the right track to getting his Arrow of Light.  He loves scouts and has learned so much by going.  I am lucky because my calling has been in scouts the whole time Jason has been in scouts.  I love being there with him and being involved in the cub scout camps.  Way to go Jason!

Friends

 One evening we had our friends and their kids over for a Summer BBQ.  It was so fun to see every ones kids and man, how time flies and how kids grow!  The kids and men enjoyed a nice game of flag football in our backyard.  It was the Dad's against the kids and it was fun to watch!

 Lanie and Abby have grown up and are such cute girl's.

 Mike is so lucky to have grown up with such great friends.  These guys helped each other through high school and they all went on missions.  Having good friends is so important!

I am lucky that these great guys married such awesome ladies.  It's fun to get together because I love getting together with these friends also.    It was a fun evening.
