Herriman Days

Herriman days arrived and we were excited to celebrate this new city we live in!  We started out by going to the Herriman parade with all our family that lives here.
Jason loves living by Alex and Zach!
 Love the Geertsens
Eliza loves living by these fun cousins... Leah and Claire
We were getting a little tired waiting for the parade to start so, climbing games on Dad began!
I love living with this amazing guy!
We love living by another Schwitzer family!  Cute Kari and Smith.  I had to document that Smith broke his leg this summer.  He survived and luckily had the cast off just in time for his 1st birthday!
We love these awesome guys and love all the craziness that comes along with them!

The parade started and the candy collecting began.

 High fives from army guys!
Captain Hook even made an appearance on the parade route.

That evening we invited the Schwitzer side over to watch an out door movie in our backyard.  We watched Freaky Friday the 70's version.  At 10:00 Herriman had their firework show and we had perfect seats right in our back yard.  It was a perfect Summer moment and a perfect Summer day spend with the people we love!

Mr. Speed

Jason has been involved with track and field.  He loves to run and he likes to run fast.  He ended up qualifying to be on the 9-10 year old 100 meter relay team.  Jason was the one of the top fastest boys in the Herriman area.  He was so proud of himself when they called his name and we were excited for him.  This then launched his relay team to the county finals.

The county finals were held at East High School.  The kids wanted to stop and get a picture in front of the school where High School Musical was filmed.  We love those movies!
We really didn't think our boys had a chance.  The other teams looked really good and we just weren't' sure how they would do.  But, their team ended up killing the other teams!

Jason on this leg actually helped pull his team in the lead!
Jordan, Jake, Cutter, and Jason won 1st place at the county meet!!!  They were so excited and this pushed them to compete in a couple of weeks at state.
Jason with his first place blue ribbon.  Go Herriman!

Fishing and a Rodeo!

It was free fishing day in Utah so, Mike took Jason and Anne to the cove pond to catch some fish.  They did pretty good and the kids enjoyed catching these little guys.  They brought them home and fried them up for breakfast.  I was little grossed out but, tried the fish and it was actually really good.  Good thing their Dad knows how to make a good piece of fish!

That evening we headed to the Herriman Rodeo.  It was a perfect night and a great show.  It was fun to just walk down the street to the Rodeo.  We didn't have to worry about parking or getting out of the park after the rodeo.  I love where we live and we are excited to make these a summer tradition!
We were happy that Grandma and Grandpa Young were able to join us for the fun.

Report time!

With the end of the school year just around the corner come all the end of year reports.  Anne had her Great Brian report due and she chose to learn about the piano.  Anne loves to play the piano and we learned all about pianos.  I have to say I learned so much doing this report with her!  She had to give an oral report to her class and she did good.  She showed a video of the Piano Guys playing a piece on the piano.   She also had to turn in a written report.

Jason had his wax museum report and he chose to do his report on Ab Jenkins.  I also learned to love this man because I did the research right along with Jason.  Ab Jenkins  set many speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats.  He was mayor of SLC and a great member of the church.  He was a great missionary because of his fame.  He named his car the Mormon Meteor.  Can you tell how much I admire this guy?!  Jason had to write a written report plus give an oral report.

Nice work kids!

Nice Work!

Eliza loss her first tooth!  We are really proud of her because she did it on her own.  It seems with our other kids we eventually had to trick them and pull it out for them.  Eliza wiggled and wiggled that tooth until she pulled it out on her own!  She was excited to put the tooth under her pillow for the tooth fairy.
We also finally took off Eliza's training wheels on her bike and discovered that she already knew how to ride a two wheeler.  She probably hasn't been using the training wheels for months.  She was so proud of herself and so are we!
Mike is such a great Dad.  He is always there with kids when they first learn how to ride!

We wish this girl would just stop growing up but, it's happening and there is nothing we can do about it.  She is wonderful!

The Swings

We sure do love to swing around here.  We decided to just get swings instead of a huge play set.  The kids love them and I think it's something we will use forever.  So, we have one more reason to spend more time outside!

Lucy is our swinging queen!  She will yell " push me super high!"  She loves to swing super high and she loves to have someone push her for hours.  Luckily, I have some good helpers that take turns pushing her.
