Lake Mary And Good Friends

It has not been summer until you have hiked up to Lake Mary and hung out with the Derricks.  Our kids really get along great, and after the first couple of minutes it seems they pick up right where they left off.  We are so lucky to have such great friends!
James biked all the way up the canyon and then hiked up to the Lake.  We were all amazed by that!  Jason and Mike did a little fishing and the girls hung out and talked.  After hiking we went to the 7-eleven to grap some slurpees.  It was the perfect summer evening!

Jason has been working hard over the summer.  He has earned tons of merit badges and is now at
First Class.   He will be working his way to Star now.  Grateful for this kid and his willingness to work hard toward getting his Eagle!

Georgia!

We are happy to be around when Connor got his Mission call.  He is going to the Georgia!  I can't remember what city in Georgia, but he will be great!  It has been so much fun to be at these openings.  Grateful for these good boys and their willingness to serve the Lord!

Schwitzer Bear Lake Trip

We always have the best time with our Schwitzer cousins up at Bear Lake.  We look forward to this time each year.  This year Mike was gone in Chicago for training so, it was just the kids and I this time.

Fun times on the four wheeler

Andrew caught a lizard and the kids loved it!

One evening a couple of the kids went out to try water skiing.  Anne tried and got up for a while!  I was proud of her for trying.
Lucy found some seashells on the shore
Anne, Kate, and Evelyn out on the lake.
Jason forgot his fishing pole so, he made his own!  He ended up catching a fish on it!
The kids had fun making the annual t-shirt.

This is Jay skiing.  I never did quite get a great picture of him.  He did get up though.  That Day Anne got the worst Allergies.  We decided to end our trip one night early and make our way home.  Home wasn't all to bad because Mike had just flown in, and we had not seen him all week.  We had such a great time and we sure do love this family!.

Hiking Yellow Fork

We finally were able to catch up with the Dartons and hang out!  We decided to take the kids up Yellow Fork Canyon to do some hiking.  We are so lucky to live so close to so many trails and areas to enjoy nature.
I miss hanging out with Jo!  Since our ward split I have not seen her in a while so, while we hiked we caught up on life.  I am so grateful to have good friends in my life!
We ended hiking 4 miles that day!!  I was so proud of these kids.  They did not complain but, just kept walking.  Lucy had me carry her some of the way but, for a 4 year old she did awesome!

Grandpa Harvey Visit

While Mike was home from a break in training we had Grandpa Harvey and Grandma and Grandpa Schwitzer over for the evening.  Jason had just gotten home from scout camp and was so tired that he was in bed when we took this picture.  We sure love Grandpa Harvey, and we just learned that he will be staying here in Utah!  We couldn't be more happier to have him living closer.  It will be nice to see him more often!
Grandpa Schwitzer decided that he was on vacation too!  He wanted to swing so, Mike gave him an under dog.  We sure do love Grandpa Schwitzer too!

While The Boys Were Gone The Girls Played

While Jason and Mike were gone we had some fun here at home.  We had sleepovers in my room every night, shopped, went swimming, and watched lots of girl movies!  Anne and Eliza took Tennis lessons with Kate and Claire.  They had fun learning a new sport and hanging out with cousins during the week.
One night we headed over to our city park to enjoy the play Beauty and the Beast.  We loved this production and Lucy even wore her Belle dress.  We had fun all together, but at the end of the week we did miss our boys!

Scout Camp 2015

Jason headed up to Camp Hunt in Bear Lake for his week long camp this year.  I had a hard time dropping him off for a whole week!  He did great, and had a fun time with his troop.  Jason is lucky to have so many boys his age in our ward.  They are a good group of boys and watch out for each other.  He earned 4 merit badges while at camp so, we were really proud of him!  We were glad to get him back home after a week though!

Mike's Summer Training In Chicago

This summer Mike has had to be in training for Berlin.  He was gone 2 weeks in June and then another 2 weeks in July.  It was kind of a bummer to have him gone through the Summer.  We appreciate and love him for all he does on behalf of our family.  I know that going to these trainings is really boring and it's never fun to be away from family for that long.  He tried to make the most of it though!  He went site seeing and ate at really yummy places!
At the Bean in Downtown Chicago.
One day Andrew Berlin, the owner of the company, invited all the people in training to his house.  Mike said his house was unbelievable!
They played a game of baseball out on his huge grass field.
No biggie to have your swimming pool right by Lake Michigan!
That evening he pulled up his yacht and invited them for dinner on that.
They made it to the city just in time to watch the firework by Navy Pier.
I know he would rather be home, but at least he had a couple of days that were different and fun!

Track and Field 2015

Jason had a great time with Track and Field this year.  He ran great and got this 1st place ribbon at the state tournament in the 4X100 relay.  We placed well in all of his events and tried his best.  We had some issues this year with people being honest and fair.  I have to say Jason was good through it all and never held a grudge or felt sorry for himself.  We are proud of all his efforts!

Happy 4th of July

We had the Young side over for the 4th.  In the morning, Jason and Mike made it back from the camping trip.  Our neighborhood had a breakfast which was fun.  In the afternoon, the kids ran through the sprinklers and slid down the slip n slide.  Then in the evening the cousins showed up!  It cooled down and even started to rain right when everyone arrived!  After dinner, though, it stopped and we were able to enjoy being out in the yard.

 Check out that cute face!!
 Cute Auntie Jess and Davis

Proof that Uncle Mike did hold Davis when he was a baby!
Once it got dark we did some sparklers.

Then our city exploded with Fireworks!  We just set up chairs in our backyard and enjoyed the show! We had such a fun day with family.
