Lucy's First Day of Kindergarten

I am not sure how this day happened, but it has.  My last baby started school!  She has been so excited to start.  She has watched all her older siblings go to school each day and she has spent time in the school helping me volunteer.  She was very ready for Kindergarten.  I put on my brave face and waved goodbye as she walked in the school.  But, as I walked back to my car the tears flowed freely.   I start a  new era of my motherhood!  Next year will be very different when she is gone all day.  I will take it gradually and will enjoy my lunches with my sweet Lu Lu!
She is so lucky to be in the same class as her best friend Ambree!

Last Camping Trip

We headed up to the Uintas for one last camping trip of the year.  How our family loves this place and enjoy the memories we make up there.  I drove up with the kids after school.  Mike went up earlier in the day to set up camp and do some fishing.  We ended up just having the two olders camp with Mike while I took the two youngers back home after dinner.  We thought having Mike talk with the two older kids about moving, in the peace and  quiet of the mountain, might be good for them.  It ended being an inspired decision as Mike said that he was able to to talk to our two older kids about moving.  It was peaceful, quiet, no distractions, and he was able to tell the kids why we might be moving.  There were some tears, but in the end they understood and told Mike they supported the decision.  They are such good kids. I know this move will not be easy on them, but I know that Heavenly Father will be there to support them!
 Our peaceful place!

Back To School Dinner: Pray He is There

I am writing this a couple of months after this.  I can see why now that the spirit prompted me to have this as our theme this year.  As this point we had an idea that Mike's company wanted us to look into moving to either Houston, Texas or Phoenix, Arizona.  That wanted Mike to look into becoming a District Manager in those cities.  I knew at that point my kids might be going through some big changes in their lives.  I wanted to concentrate this year on prayer.  I want my kids to know that they can turn to their Heavenly Father in prayer to help them in anything hard they are going through.  We had a neat lesson on prayer that evening for FHE.

I gave each of the kids these quotes on prayer.  The first one has the words from a Child's prayer on it.

The second one has one of my favorite quotes on prayer it's, "get on your knees and pray and then get on your feet and work."  Gordon B. Hinckley.    I think this is so true with prayer.  Prayer is a form of work.  We pray with all our might and soul to Heavenly Father, but then we need to work as if everything depended on us.
After we all went in the back yard and played and jumped on the tramp.  I sat there just taking in this perfect night and moment.  Knowing tomorrow they would start a new school year, but also that some big changes were going to happen to our family.  Just sitting in the yard, jumping on the tramp, and enjoying the summer was just what my soul needed.

Young Family Reunion

One more Reunion this summer!  It was with the Young side and we had such a great time seeing cousins and catching up again!  We all met at a park in Midway, Utah to celebrate my Grandpa and Grandma Young.
My Dad's cousin Wayne who still lives in Midway came to talk about our families history in Midway and some stories about my Grand-parents.
Table with items and pictures of Grandma and Grandpa Young.
Lots of hanging out and talking!

We then played some games, but the favorite was the tug of war!

It was a fun evening and we all enjoyed talking, playing, and catching up!

The Derricks

Jason headed out with the scouts to back pack into the Uintas.  He was really excited and I was a little nervous... haha!  He had a great time!
While Jason went back packing the rest of us went to hang out with The Derricks for an evening in Park City.  How we love this family!!
We ate dinner and then swam in their condo pool.

 The girls had a blast!
I enjoy anytime I get to catch up with Lori!  It was a fun evening!

20 Year High School Reunion

Lots of reunions this summer!  It was my 20 year reunion and I had such a fun time catching up with friends.  All these ladies had such an impact on me in some way or another.  They are all wonderful women and mothers.  Loved catching up and telling crazy stories about high school!
Karen was one of my first friends in Middle school and we remained friends through high school and college.  I had lost touch with her and was so happy to see her.  It was a fun night!!

Heber Valley Girl's Camp

I had such a great time with our Young Women up at Heber Valley Camp!  All these Young Women are amazing and I really enjoyed spending a week with each and every one of them!
It was Stake Camp this year and the theme was No Place Like Home... Wizard of Oz theme.
The cabins at the camp are amazing and we had showers!!
 Lots of crafting
 Playing games
I had the chance of going on the sun rise hike with these cute girls!

The girls did a rope's course where they got to go down a huge Zipline.

The lake at the camp is beautiful and we had a fun time playing tag around the huge lake.

It's amazing how the Lord has open my heart so I can love these girls the way he does.  Each of these girls have a little place of in my heart and I know how much the Lord loves them!  It has been amazing to see each of these girls grow spiritually over these past couple of years.
