Happy 7th Jason!

I love this face! It's the same face I fell in love with 7 years ago with a few changes of course. He is getting some new bigger teeth and looking older. It's hard to believe that 7 years ago that Mike and I started parenthood and it started with this guy! He has been our hardest baby by far and we tell him all the time that he was kind of bad baby. But, if bad baby turns into what Jason has become I will do it again! He is the only boy child in the family and does a pretty good job of holding his own around 2 sisters. He is a funny, kind and obedient boy. He wants to do what is right all the time and worries about disappointing Mike and I. He is a good friend and is really accepting of anymore that wants to play with him. He loves riding his bike and loves being outside in the summer. He enjoys camping and fishing and has just started to learn how to play basketball this year. I am so happy to have Jason as my son and love him so much!
On his big day he had school but, it was early day so he wasn't at school as long!

When he walked in the door from school we had his new bike in the family room and yelled surprised! He is not very good at showing emotion so at first we thought he didn't like his bike. But, he took it outside and I could see him smiling as he rode it down the street. He really likes his new bike.

He wanted to go to Kangaroo Zoo and so as a family we went and let the kids run around for a couple of hours.

Jason and Anne had so much fun together and it was fun to watch Anne keep up with Jason.

Jason and Anne were good about including Eliza. Eliza eventually got brave and went down all the big slides with Jason and Anne.

After Kangaroo Zoo, Jason wanted to eat at the Spaghetti Factory which we were all really happy about. We got to eat in the trolley which was fun for the kids.

We came home and had cake and ice cream and he blew out his seven candles to start a new year! We love you Jason and were happy to spend the day with you!

The Third Child....We Love Her

So, this past week we have had some classic Eliza moments. She has so much personality and is so different from Jason and Anne. Jason and Anne obey rules and get dressed and try to please. She is 2 and the only outfit she will wear is a princess dress. She will not let me do her hair and so she looks like a homeless princess. The other day she wanted to play outside in her black Sunday shoes, princess dresses, and Ariel snow hat. I did manage to get a coat on her. She ran around the backyard singing, dancing, and having an adventure.

Notice the princess dress and undone hair to start off. I walked in to find her changing her dolls diaper and smearing Desitin all over the doll. Good thing this doll is meant for water because trying to wash off Desitin is a joke. She is so much fun and I am so thankful to have such a fun little girl in my life!

MLK Day

MLK Day or Human rights day is always a day off from school in January. I have never really given much thought to this holiday which is sad but, I am grateful for a day off. Jessica had the idea of going sledding together and I am glad she invited us to come along. That morning it had snowed a little bit so the kids were excited to go. First, Mike and I went to a flooring show room to pick out our new flooring for our family room/ kitchen area. Since I was already in SLC we just hung out at my parents house for the afternoon. It was nice to talk with my parents and sometimes I don't always get to just go hang out at the house with them. We were sad about not having Mike with us because he had to work. We are so grateful to our wonderful Dad and husband who works for our little family. Mike actually took the kids sledding on Saturday and they had a great time having Dad time.

In the afternoon Joe, Jessica and boys came and we went over to Anzak and did some sledding. The little hill over at that park is perfect for our kids and it's easy for them to go down and come up on their own.
Grandma and Anne

Jason was having so much fun sledding. He wanted to see how far he could get his sled to go down the hill. He was trying different paths and different positions to see if he could get more air or less air. It was fun to watch his little head think through different options.

I love that my parents are game for still playing with their grand-kids. My Dad is in his sixties but, it always up for sledding, playing a game, or going to the park. The kids love it!

Mom and Anne

Uncle Joe is such a fun uncle and all my kids enjoy being around him!

The kids soon learned that it was more fun to slide down and then have Auntie Jill pull them up the hill!

Jason was so cute with Eliza and would want to pull her up the hill. Eliza LOVED sledding and after we would go down the hill she would yell, "Again, Again!" It was so cute.
After sledding we went back to my parents and had soup and rolls. We had a early dinner and got back home to get ready for school in the morning. It was a fun day.

A Winter Sunset

The best part about living where we do are the sunsets. I just happen to have a husband who looks at the sky and notices these things and makes me look. I am glad I looked at this one. We have a ghetto camera but, we just wanted to capture how the sky looks around here in the winter.
Last night we had a earthquake and the epicenter was in our city. It happen at one in the morning and Mike and I both woke up to what sounded like a car ramming into our house. I was really out of it but, it was loud and woke us up. Our windows were shaking and it was crazy. We have had lots of little earthquakes in the state over the last couple months and it has made us look into our 72 hour kits more closely. I have been waiting for the big one to hit Utah since I was a little girl and I am really not looking forward to it. I know the more prepared I am I need not fear. So, I feel I am prepared but, I need to get some batteries. We are always out of batteries!

" I think you are 42."

As I get older Birthdays are great but, there is always the thought of I am getting older. When I ask Jason how old he thought I was he said, " I think you are 42." Sweet! Thanks Jason! For my birthday Mike got me Wii fit which is awesome and so much fun. But, my Wii age is 49! I really need some help!!! I have just started looking into wrinkle creams... What the... Wrinkle creams? It seems I look back at pictures in my 20's and I can't believe the youthfulness and now I look in the mirror and it's starting to look different. It seemed once I turned 30 my body just changed. No longer can I eat what and whenever I want and instead of acne cream I have moved on to wrinkle cream. To be honest ,I really enjoy being in my 30's. My kids are at fun ages and we are settled in a home in a great neighborhood. I still feel like I am 17 but, then a weird ache will show up and I am reminded that I am 32.

I had a great birthday! Mike and I went out on a date to see the movie " New Moon" and then we went out to dinner. Anytime I can be with Mike alone with no kids is such a treat. On my actual birthday my Mom made me a really nice dinner and Jill made me my favorite cheesecake. Yummy! I love the picture above because this is my life right now at 32 and I wouldn't want it any different.....the three best kids helping blow out my candles!

A New Year!

On New Year's Eve it just sounded so good to stay home and really do nothing exciting. We toasted in the New Year with some sparkling apple juice and let the kids do some sparklers in the front yard. They enjoyed also some left over fireworks from the 4th of July. The kids wanted to watch Sleeping Beauty and then they went to bed. Mike and I watched the the ball fall over Time Square on T.V. It was actually a really relaxing night and it was fun to ring in the new year with the fam. On New Years day we took all the Christmas decor down and tried to get the house some what back to normal. In the afternoon we went and saw the "Princess and the Frog." Jason and Anne loved the movie but, Eliza is still young and didn't like sitting in a theater through a movie. This was Anne's first time in a movie theater and she really enjoyed it. We came home and relaxed some more. The holidays are such a great time and we really did have a relaxing New Year holiday. I am looking forward to 2010 and the fun it will bring!
