Memorial Day

On Memorial day we split up between the girls and boys.  Mike and Jason went golfing in the morning.  Jason has picked up golf and is getting really good.   The girls and I went shopping to catch all the awesome Memorial Day sales.  We got the girls all ready for Summer!

In the afternoon we visited my Grandma and Grandpa Davis' grave.  We put on flowers and I told the kids a little bit about them.  After we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Youngs for a BBQ.
At Grandma's the girls finally got to meet Brooke and hold her.  We had to set a time limit so each girl got time.  They all just wanted to sit and hold the baby!

She has lots of brown hair.
Mike did hold her before she was one! :)

Mountain West Ballet Sleeping Beauty

This Spring Anne tried out for the Mountain West Ballet production of Sleeping Beauty.  She got the Garland Rose part.  It was a really pretty dance and on stage she danced with older girls that are on pointe.  This was a big commitment.  She had rehearsal every Saturday up in Sandy for months and then 3 days of the actual show.  She really loved it and made some fun friends from all over the valley.  Here are the girls in her dance.  While waiting for their dance they would make a back massage train.
Here is Anne in her costume.  Mountain West is really strict on not taking any pictures of the actually performance so, this is what I got back stage!
The Garland Roses with Sleeping Beauty who is an amazing Ballerina!
It was a big commitment for me too.  I had to volunteer 10 hours of my time for Mountain West.  Luckily Mike helped with that too.  Mike helped set up the back drop on stage, I worked at the boutique selling flowers, and then I was back stage with her group for the Saturday matinee.  It was a great experience for Anne!

Job Shadow

For one of Jason's classes this year he had to spend the day Job Shadowing someone.  Of course he chose his own Dad!  Jason got up early and went to work with Mike all day.  They went into the office and Jason sat through a meeting and helped organize Mike's office.  They then went out to visit some of Mike's costumers and they even closed a deal together!  Jason said it was a long day, but that Dad works super hard!  It was fun for Jason to spend a day in Mike's shoes!

Rocks for Sale

We finally got some warmer weather and all the neighborhood kids are out.  One afternoon Eliza, Cameron, and Tori decided to sell rocks!  They went door to door and sold rocks for 5 cents.  Soon other kids thought it was a great idea and joined them.  I love Summer and all the fun that starts in the neighborhood!

End of Year Projects

Anne has been working on this project for a couple months.  She chose to do he report on World War II.  She wrote a 3 page paper, a World War II fighting scene in the card board box, a history fair, and then on oral report to her class.  It took a lot of time, but it was a great topic to learn about since 3 of her Great Grandpa's fought in that war!  Good work Anne!

Happy Mother's Day

I had such a great Mother's Day.  Being the mom to these 4 amazing kids is pretty great!  They are all very good to me and I love them each so much!  They made me breakfast and I got lots of cards and special gifts they had each made for me.  It is such an honor to be their Mom!  I love you!

Till We Meet Again

On May 3rd Grandpa Harvey passed away.  This was a little sudden for all of us.  We really were not expecting him to pass anytime soon.  We had all just gotten together for his 90th Birthday where he seemed in good spirits and in good health.  On May 2nd Mike and Grandpa Schwitzer went golfing with him.  He played a couple of holes and then just enjoyed watching Mike and Grandpa.  Mike took him out for dinner that night and let him order whatever he wanted.  He ordered a Red Robin Burger, Fries, and a nice big glass of strawberry lemonade.  The next day Mike's Aunt left the house just for a half hour.  When she came home she had found him and he had passed away.  We are not sure exactly what happened, but we do believe in God' timing and he needed Grandpa Harvey on the other side.

We were all devastated when we heard the news.  Mike had the hardest time coping with losing him.  He went up to our room and cried and cried for hours.  Mike had a really unique relationship with his Grandpa.  They were golfing buddies and Mike loved him so much.  Mike just kept saying, "I just lost my Best Friend."
We got this text from Grandma a couple of days before he passed.  Grandpa Harvey was a huge supporter of Donald Trump.  He really wants him to be President.
On May 11th it was his funeral.  We all gathered and each of the kids took a moment to say good bye.  All of our kids had a really hard time doing that.  There were lots of tears, but lots of family there to give support and comfort.

After, all the great- grand-kids gathered around the casket and were touching it.  I thought it was a neat moment.

We came home and thought about the days events.  I found this note that Eliza wrote to Grandpa Harvey.  I thought it was so sweet.

We will miss Grandpa Harvey, but know he is happy and all is well with him on the other side.  We know that we will see him again and our relationship will continue after this life!
