Student Of The Month

Jason was student of the month for March.  The value for the month was patience and Jason is a very patient person.  He has to be patient with all these girls living with him!   He was nominated by other kids in his class.  This is what his teacher said, "Jason was nominated by his class because he has shown patience with others.  He is easy going and gets along with everyone he meets!"  Way to go Jason!  We are proud of the hard work you put into school!

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter this year.  The week leading up to Easter we read each day about Christ last week before his death and resurrection.  We either read scripture or watch a bible movie off lds.org.  I loved thinking about Christ this whole week and really putting the focus on him.  On, Saturday we went to the Herriman Easter egg hunt.  I only got a picture of Lucy because we had to work fast to get candy.  That evening we had Grandma and Grandpa Young over for dinner and Easter egg coloring.

Easter morning the kids each found their Easter baskets!  Look at those happy faces!
We then headed off for our last Sacrament meeting in the Rose Canyon 6th Ward.  They split our ward and we start a new ward after conference.  I didn't try to match the kids this year so, every one's Easter outfit is different.

 Love!
We had Easter dinner with the Schwitzer side this year.  Grandma Schwitzer had a big egg hunt in the back yard.

Then Grandma and Grandpa had a Easter fish pond for all of us!  The guys got these hula hoops and the ladies got some fun treasures from their resent trip to Honduras.  The kids would line up and put the fishing pole over the Easter sheet.  They would then pull the pole back to find all kinds of prizes.  The kids loved this and Grandma Schwitzer was so excited.  They have been in Russia for many Easters now so, to have us all together and do this was special for her.

I loved thinking about Christ all week and thinking about all he has done personally for me.  The power of the atonement in my life is something very special to me and my love for Christ grows and grows with my age.  I am always grateful for this time of year to think about him!

Anne's Baptism

Anne was baptized on March 23rd.  It had snowed that morning and turned the earth into clean white.  I told Anne, Heavenly Father sent the snow to show how happy he was of her, and wanted everything to be white for her.  We got a picture of her two white dresses.
Anne was baptized by her Dad and she is so lucky to have such a wonderful father who honors is priesthood and is able to bless our family.
This was my first daughter to be baptized.  With Jason I felt like I was just part of the crowd.  I had a hard time seeing him get baptized around all the people.  With Anne I got to witness her baptism at the top of the stairs.  As she enter the water the spirit was so strong, and as Mike said the prayer the spirit whispered to me how proud Heavenly Father was of his daughter today!  Mike and I both had tears in our eyes, and it was a neat moment for the three of us.  I loved getting her clean perfect spirit into my arms and hugging her.
Anne made this decision all on her own.  We do not make our kids get baptized but, teach them about it and then let them make their own decision.  She had been waited for this day for a while.
After the baptism we had family over to celebrate Anne and her baptism.  There were around 40 people at our home between both sides of family!
We are so grateful for the priesthood. I am so grateful all these wonderful men hold it, and help bless our family.  We were missing Uncle Brad who had to leave early.
Grandpa and Grandma Young were there.  Grandma played the piano at the baptism and did a great job.  Grandpa was a witness at the baptism.
Grandma Schwitzer was there and we missed Grandpa Schwitzer.  Grandpa was reorganizing a stake and couldn't make the baptism.  We sure did miss him!  Grandma spoke about Baptism at the baptism and she did a wonderful job speaking about her feelings!
How we love our "little flower"  Anne's middle name is Linnea and in Swedish it means little flower.  We love her so much and are so proud of the decisions she is making in her life!

Anne's Baptism Pictures

Our last week off track I took Anne to take some pictures of her in her Baptism dress.  She picked this dress all by herself.  Going shopping with her was fun and she tried on about 10 dresses  until she found the one she liked the best.  I really didn't want to take these pictures of her.  I really wanted to have a professional photography take her pictures.  Mike insisted that I should do them and I actually had a lot of fun taking them.  I took about 100 pictures but, I got to pose her and do exactly what I wanted instead of paying a lot of money to get maybe one picture I really like.  So, again Mike was right on this one!

It was a beautiful day and there were three weddings going on so, we had to wait our turn to get certain picture spots like this one!

I loved taking these pictures at the temple and I can't wait to see her in her third white dress in front of the temple someday!
