Jason's 8th Birthday

I can't believe I have an 8 year old! It seems just like yesterday Mike and I were living in the Bennett's basement and bringing him home from the hospital. Jason is a wonderful son and such a good example to his sisters. He is so excited to get baptized in a week. Jason is smart, funny, nice, a good friend, and loves holidays. We are so happy that Jason chose to come to our family
His favorite present was his new set of scriptures. He loves to read them and especially loves to mark his favorite scriptures.

Jason is super excited to be a cub scout and I am lucky because I get to be his Den Mom. I am excited to have him in our Den and excited to see him do all the fun things a cub scout gets to do.

He got to have a friend party this year. He had a couple of friends and cousins over to have pizza and watch a movie. They watched How to Train a Dragon and our basement still kind of smells after having all those boys down there!!! :)

Here was the group minus Jimmy who had to go home. Adam, Alex, Michael, Jason, Harold, Andrew, and Harrison.

Sunsets and Sisters

We get some amazing sunsets out on the west side of Utah Lake. We were eating dinner and I looked outside and couldn't believe how beautiful. We have the most neat view from our backyard of Lake Mountain and the clouds were bright orange. It looked like the sky was on fire. The best sunsets are always in the winter and Mike loves to take a moment and look at them. Mike's love for the sky is just one of the many reasons I adore him.

While Jason is at school all day my girls have so much fun just being girls. Anne is in morning kindergarten and Eliza comes with me everyday to pick her up. When Anne gets in the car Eliza screams "Anne!!!!" We come home and eat lunch and then immediately they start into playing house, restaurant, or princess. I am grateful my girls have sisters!

Happy 33rd!

I had another great birthday and I am another year older. We had a pretty normal day due to the first day back to school after Christmas break. That night, though, Mike took me out to dinner and that was the best present. Being able to get away from the kids for a moment and just be with Mike is priceless. The kids and Mike got me a new camera for my birthday and we have been having fun playing around with it. It's been fun to learn about it and experiment over the last couple of weeks. So, a few random photos from our experimenting.
Can I say "Yunkin Tunkin!"

Christmas Day

We had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed being home all day and relaxing. Of course there were presents opened and lots of new stuff to play with. Lucy got a new blanket and hair bows... what every baby wants!!
Jason's favorite present was this new Star Wars thing... I am not sure what to call it but, he loves it. He got some walkie talkies, new nerf gun, clothes, batman wii, and a bunch a new star wars play guys.

Anne got a DSi and she enjoyed all morning playing with it and taking a ton of pictures with it. Her and Jason had fun sending messages to each other with their DS's. She got some new dolls, pop beads, and easy bake oven, new clothes, DS game, and new doll furniture.

Eliza got a new bike and it was a princess bike of course. She rode around the house all day on her bike. She got a princess tent, Tinkerbell dolls, an Ariel doll, new clothes, and a Tinkerbell dress-up.
Mike and I got a new bed right before Lucy was born. We finally got a king size bed and it so nice. We are sleeping a lot better.. well somewhat better even with a newborn.
In the evening Grandma and Grandpa Young and Auntie Jill came over to see all the gifts. We had dinner and then watched Toy Story 3.
We have so much to be thankful for this past year. Our little Lucy was our biggest blessing this year and she has brought so much joy to our family. The Lord has blessed us in obvious ways this year and we know he is aware of our little family. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

We had our traditional Christmas Eve dinner which I have to say was pretty good ( I will give myself a pat on the back) We enjoy this time to talk about Christmas and Mike and I shared a favorite Christmas from our past. I also shared the famous Great Grandma Young Christmas story about her favorite Christmas in Midway.
Jason made these cute Christmas napkin holders at school as a Christmas gift for Mike and I. We had them on our Christmas Eve table.

Can you tell that Eliza loved her Christmas drink? She is so much fun!

Our favorite Christmas tradition is the almond in the pudding. Jason got the almond this year and got to open the present that was set in the middle of our table.

The present was a harp. These are fun for kids and they enjoyed playing the different songs all evening on the harp.

They got to open up new Christmas Eve PJ's!

On Christmas Eve we spend it with the Young side also. We made gingerbread houses and enjoyed being creative.

We also had the Christmas Eve talent show. Jason played Silent Night and Mike played Joy to the World. I was so proud of my boys!!! We enjoyed being with family and opening presents and of course playing the chimes... a Young family tradition.

Christmas Break

After having a baby it has been nice to have the kids home and we can relax and not worry about homework and getting off to school. It is always an adjustment for me when I have a baby and the kids have been so patient with me. The picture above was taken by Anne and this is where we spend a lot of time..... feeding Lucy in her room. Eliza is usually in the room with me talking to me and keeping me company.
We were lucky to have a white Christmas and even get some snow during the break. The kids were so excited to play in the snow and they even built a snowman all by themselves! I was proud of them because they usually like Mike to help them build it.

I love these cute little snow princesses!

Here is the finished product and I think they did a great job. They worked together and made a fine snowman!

Lucy was nice a warm inside sleeping. She is just 3 weeks in this picture. I love her kissable cheeks.

Here is Lucy hanging out. She has been a great baby and is sleeping well. She does have her fussy moments but, other than that she is a sweet baby.
