Sunflower Competition

This year the Schwitzer Family had a sunflower competition.  Our sunflowers got huge and loved all the sun in our yard.  Jason's sunflower won 2nd place for the tallest and 1st place for his flower being the biggest.  This picture was taken early in the summer, but his flower got huge.  It was 2 feet wide and his flower was 10 feet tall.
The girls all shared this flower.  Their flower was 8 feet tall and their flower was just under 2 feet wide.  The kids had fun over the summer watering and caring for their flowers.

Happy 8th Birthday Eliza

How we love our Eliza May!  She brings us so much joy and happiness.  She is always ready to have a good time and she loves to laugh and tell funny stories.  She is also very sensitive to others needs.  She has a friend that is going through some really hard times.   Her parents are getting a divorce and Eliza feels so bad for her.  Every night she prays for this friend and others.  I love that she has faith that Heavenly Father will help her friend.  She is very smart and does well in school.  She loves to draw and color and right now we have her art lessons.  We were so excited to spend a day celebrating her!
She woke up and opened a couple of presents.
She got some new doll clothes to go with her….
Newborn baby doll!  She has been wanted this type of baby doll for a while.  She is the best mom and takes care of that baby so well.  While she is away at school it is my job to baby sit her baby!
That morning we got her all ready for church and for the day.  Then during Sacrament meeting she said she did not feel well.  Her throat and stomach hurt.  With those symptoms I knew she had strep throat.  Grandma and Grandpa Schwitzer happened to be at church with us to celebrate Eliza.  So, Grandma and I came home with her while the others finished church.
We didn't want Grandpa Schwitzer to get strep since he had to speak in conference in one week so, we sent them home and canceled her birthday party not wanted to get other family members sick.  So, the rest of the day was just spent with our little family.
She opened the rest of her presents and even gave me some smiles.  She got a journal.
 A scripture case.
 Her scriptures!
We then cut her a piece of cake to blow out the candles so, she wouldn't get the rest of us sick.  She made a wish for her 8th year.
After a dinner and cake we headed outside.  It was such a warm wonderful day.
Lucy was so sweet and pushed Eliza around in the wheel chair.

With her baby on her lap she enjoyed the fresh air.  We got her on some medicine and the next day she was feeling better.
This is a horrible picture, but just to document that on the night of her birthday it was a red moon!
Happy Birthday our sweet, sweet Eliza!!

It was Eliza's first Women's Conference this year.  She was excited to come on the girls night out. We went out to dinner at the Cafe at Thanksgiving point and then headed over to Saratoga Springs to watch the conference.
It was Sydney's first conference too.  These girls cousins sure do love each other!
I love these ladies and had fun talking and listening to conference with them.

Cupcake Wars Birthday Party

For Eliza's 8th Birthday we had a Cupcake Wars birthday party.  Eliza loves the show and we thought it would make a fun party.  Each of the girls got to decorate their own apron and then we divided them up into teams.  We had three different challenges and girls really got into them.
The judges were Mike, Jason, Anne, and Lucy.
Mike seemed to enjoy some the cupcakes better than others.  haha!  He is such a fun Dad and the girls were laughing their heads off.
The first Challenge was just on taste.
The 2nd challenge was 50% taste and 50% looks.
The last challenge was the theme challenge.  They had to decorate 18 cupcakes in the theme of their favorite season.  It was really fun and messy!
We then opened presents.  Each of the girls got to take home 4 cupcakes and their apron as their gift from us.
Eliza is so lucky to have so many cousins and friends her age.  Eliza really is an amazing friend and is so kind to each one of these girls.  A lot of these girls have different personalities, but they all love Eliza and her accepting loving personality.  Whitney, Eliza, Sydney, Katie, Dani, Brooklyn, Claire, Leah, Kallee, and Tori.

Happy 20th Anniversary Tom and Cathy

Sorry these pictures are so blurry, but I was laughing so hard at Tom and these pictures.  Cathy and everyone else were making their way home on Tom and Cathy's 20th anniversary.  So, as sister-in-laws we planned a party for Tom.  He brought her bridal picture and their wedding album.  We had fun sending pictures to Cathy.

Maybe dancing with her will make him feel better?
We got Cathy's 20th anniversary gift! hahah!

Tom enjoying his wedding album without Cathy
Tom telling all of us about his big day.  It was fun to be with family for the night and have some good laughs.  We just hung out as girls and Tom and the boys headed downstairs to watch the Utah game.  We sure were glad to have all our spouses come home the next day!

September Small Moments

Max turned 6 years old! We love to celebrate his birthday and he seems to love when the kids sing to him.  It's the one time of year he gets a little piece of cake!
I get to work with the Beehives in our ward and these girls are so cute.  They all might not be best of friends, but when they get together they are so kind to each other.  They have taught me so much about Christ like love!
We need a little service project at the temple for mutual.  We put a note with some candy on some of the cars that were parked at the temple.  The note thanked them for doing Temple service that day.
Lucy was grocery shopping with me when a nice old man walked up to her and gave her a 2 dollar bill!  It made her day!  We say that her red hair brings her luck!

Lucy and Lucy

While Mike was in Rome we tried to plan a few fun things to do while he was gone.  One of them was hanging out with Lori and Lucy.  We met at This is the Place Park and enjoyed the day together.  These two girls had a good time together and Lori and I had a great time talking about life!
They got to look for all kinds a different colorful rocks.

 Panning for gold!
Lucy got to hold a baby chick too!  So thankful for good friends to keep us company while Mike was away!

Eliza's Baptism Pictures

On Sunday evening we headed down to Temple Square to get some pictures of beautiful Eliza.  It was fun to be downtown and on the grounds.

 Love this beautiful face!

It got a little cloudy and dark, but I think the pictures turned out great!
We had lots of Sister support to help get lots of laughs and smiles.
