Better than Hollywood!

Over Spring Break Jason and I finished the book the Tale of Despereaux. This book is a really fun children's book and I was surprised at how much Jason enjoyed reading it. It took us a couple of months because his attention span isn't very long but, I loved reading it to him and seeing his eyes light up when he liked something or see him cuddle up to me when it was a little more dark and scary. I told him we would read the book first and then we could get the movie and watch it. So, we got the movie this week and watched it and it wasn't as good as the book at all. I love reading and I love when my imagination gets going and I make this whole new world for myself. So, when a movie is made after a book I have read sometimes I am disappointed because it isn't how I imagined it in my head. Jason loved the movie and the book and it was good quality time spent with my son. I am a strong believer that our imaginations would take home the Oscar every year because we are better than Hollywood!!

Spring Break

We had Spring Break this past week and it was a nice relaxing week. I never thought that the kids not having school was also a break for me. It's nice not to worry about homework and running around getting the kids to there different activities. The weather here was not good for a spring break because it was raining and it even snowed one day.:( The kids had a lot fun being inside and we rented some movies for them to watch. There new favorite movies are the movies Bolt and High School Musical 3. Both are really cute and even Jason could be found dancing along to High School Musical. On Friday I took the kids to the Children's Museum. Auntie Jill, Aunt Jessica and cousins Hayden and Parker came along for the ride. The Museum was sooo busy and it was a little crazy but, my kids really enjoyed themselves and loved the ball area the best. I have been a little spoiled because we lived in Indiana for a couple of years and the Children's Museum there is the best in the nation. So, the one in Utah doesn't really compare but, for Utah is was good and my kids didn't know any better.
Jason and Anne in the farm area on the big horse.

They have rock climbing wall in the museum and Jason loved it. He is a really good climber!

They have a life flight helicopter on the roof of the museum and my kids loved playing around in it and pretending they were flying it.

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter this year. The kids woke up and they had to find there Easter baskets which didn't take them very long. Eliza even found her basket with no help! They got plenty of candy and a book in there baskets. We then went to church and a had good spirit filled Easter Sunday there.
My two girls love to wear matching outfits and I love it. I am going to live it up until they say it's not cool to be matching anymore. So, here are girls with their Easter outfits.

Jason doesn't mind coordinating also. So, he had on a green striped shirt that matched the girls and they looked so cute and springy.

Me and the best kids in the whole world. Heavenly Father could not have sent any better to Mike and I!

Anne loves her Dad. She always says "Hi Dad, my friend." She has him wrapped around his finger and is the only Man in her life right now!!

Jason wants to wish everyone a Happy Easter! He really is on one where he likes to make funny faces and wants someone to take a picture of him. There were many more of these but, not enough space to post all of them.

After church we headed over to the Schwitzer side for Easter dinner and an egg hunt. The kids look forward to this every year. Mike's parents put hundreds of eggs around there yard and the kids all get plenty of eggs and candy.

Jason reaching for some eggs up in the tree. We had a great holiday and enjoyed the nice weather and are getting excited for warmer weather and the summer break. Jason has this whole next week off for Spring break so hopefully we can do some more fun activities this week!

Allison's Wedding!!

My beautiful cousin Allie got married this past weekend. Eliza and I went up to Portland, OR for the wedding and had such a good time. I had never been up to Portland and it was so pretty. Compared to Utah it's the Garden of Eden. It was pretty cloudy the whole time we were up there but, it was so green and all the spring flowers were really pretty. We got up there on Thursday and went and saw my Dad's brother who is really sick right now. It was hard to see him in so much pain at such a young age. It was good for my Dad to have some time with Jim and catch up. We then went and hung out at my Aunt Mary's house and then we headed over to the wedding dinner. It was a really nice dinner and they kind of threw a guy shower of her husband Matt. I thought it was a good idea! So, we were all suppose to bring some kind of tool or anything really from Home Depot for them. You never really think about tools when you get married but, once you get to your new apartment and realize you don't have a hammer or nails to hang your new wedding pictures you wished someone had given you some type of tool. So, It was a fun night.
She got married on Friday and it was wasn't raining!!! She looked so pretty and I loved her dress. I could never get Matt to look where I was standing so in all the pics he is looking the other way. He really is a nice guy and I am excited for Allie.

The happy couple

Eliza and I at the Portland temple. Eliza was a such a good traveller and even though she gave lots of crusties she is still precious.

Eliza saying "Cheese" in front of some pretty tulips at the temple!

Melanie, Molly, Allie, and Elizabeth. They are all the best girls and so cute and fun. I am lucky to have them as cousins. After the temple the reception was in Corvallis which is about a 2 hour drive. My parents, Jill, and I stopped at some outlet malls on the way up and shopped for a while. They had the best outlet mall in the world there! Jill and my Mom found some cute outfits but, it just wasn't my day for finding something. We got to Corvallis in time for the big party. She had an awesome reception and it was fun to talk with everyone again. I really had a fun time being with my parents and Jill and seeing family again. I wished we all lived closer but, at least I got a little vacation out of it! :)

Eliza was obsessed with this balloon at the airport. She ran up to it and hug it for like 15min. When I took her away from it she was screaming and crying and it was a sad moment in her life. I now know what to get her for Christmas, a smiley face balloon!!!

General Conference Fun

We had a good Conference weekend. I really enjoyed listening and watching conference. I felt so uplifted after and felt the conference gave us so much to be hopeful about. I felt that the theme of the conference was on the temples and I am grateful to the many testimonies that were borne on the temple and temple work. It got me excited to do better in that area of my life.
On Saturday Mike and I got to go to the afternoon session of conference and see Mike's Dad sustained. It was really need to be up close and to see the prophet in person. There was such a neat spirit in the conference center and Mike and I were excited that we could be there that day. After Mike stayed for priesthood with his Dad and brothers and I headed home to hang out with the girls. My Mom had a little Easter party for the grand-kids and they got to color many eggs and have a Easter egg hunt. The weather was so cold we had to do it down in my parents basement but, the kids had a really fun time.

Here is a picture of most of the Grand-kids. They all have some sort of candy in their mouths and I am sure Eliza has a chocolate mustache or it's all over her hands!

Karate for Jason and Dance for Anne

Jason came home from school one day and said that he had a coupon to go to a free karate class. I really didn't want to take him because I am not a huge fan of karate type people. ( That might sound mean but, it just always seemed weird to me.) Anyways, he begged and begged so I took him to the class. It ended up being a really neat class and they teach the kids not only how to defend themselves against strangers but, to have respect and to be disciplined. Jason is an excellent kid but, he seemed to love when he had to say " Yes sir" and stand to attention. He is in the little Ninja class and so far so good. I definitely do not want him to become the next karate kid but, I think this will be really good for Jason in many ways.

Anne started a dance class a couple of weeks ago and it has been so much fun. By our house is the cutest store called the Glass Slipper and it's full of dance outfits. Anne and I went on a special outing together and we spent about hour trying on different outfits and tutus. She finally picked out this one of course it is pink, pink, pink her favorite color. She goes with a friend in the neighborhood and she has learned so much. I need to get a better picture of her in her outfit but, she came home from dance one day and I found her asleep on her bed. All that dancing must of worn her out.
