Disneyland Day 1 and 2

We have been so excited these past couple of months to go on our vacation to Disneyland.  The kids are off track so, we took advantage of the time to travel.  Our first day was just traveling and getting settled in.  The kids were so excited to fly and Mom and Dad were happy not to drive for 2 days!  Lucy  did great on the plane and enjoyed having her own seat.

On day 2 we headed to Disneyland.  On this day it was suppose to rain and it was a little cold so, Disneyland was a ghost town.  We walked on rides all day and got to walk right up to characters to get pictures.  It was so nice not having to wait in so many lines.  We saw Tigger!
Eyore was pretty easy to get a picture with!  Lucy kept calling him a cow.  I don't think the kids had any idea who he was.
Lucy loves Pooh Bear so, seeing him was fun for Lucy.
While in Adventure land Eliza decide she wanted to go on Splash mountain.  So, I took Eliza on it and she was loving the ride until she realized we had to go down a huge hill.  I didn't have my camera to get a picture of her face going down the hill... but, she was pretty surprised.  Anne also went on Splash mountain with Mike.  The pictures above is Anne after going down Splash Mountain.
We can only see Mike in the picture but, Anne is right in front of him.  She loves this ride and went on it a couple more times.

We watched a movie on Disneyland and the secrets around the park.  This silver dot means you are in the center of Disneyland Park.  The kids really wanted to find it.
There were just no crowds this day and all the characters were in the main square.  We just walked right up to them to meet them!  Donald!

Lucy has been talking about meeting Minnie Mouse for months so, seeing her face when we spotted Minnie was so cute.  She ran up to Minnie and gave her a big hug.

Anne was brave and went on Space Mountain.  Look at her little tongue sticking out!  She was loving the rides.
Lucy and Eliza wanted to meet Rapunzel.  Jason and Anne really didn't want to so, I took Jason and Anne on rides and Mike took the youngers to stand in line to meet Rapunzel.  They were so happy to finally meet one of their favorite princesses.
Lucy loved the carousel.  She would call it the horse ride.  We had to go on this ride at least once a day to make Lucy happy.
Really all of us love a good carousel ride!

Happy 8th Birthday Anne

Anne turned 8 and she is absolutely great!!  We could not ask for a better daughter and sister in our family.  Anne amazes me with her abilities in so many areas of her life.  She is a very good student and loves school.  She gets so excited to learn about anything new.  She is so organized and I love watching her organize her life.  All her drawers, clothes, books are organized how she likes them.   She is the best big sister and she is always helping Eliza and Lucy with something.  Sometimes Lucy will run to Anne for comfort when she is sad.  She loves to dance and it's fun to see her enjoy that activity.  Anne is a kind person and a good friend to those around her.  We were so happy and excited to celebrate her this day!

In the morning, we let her open one present.  She got Olivia's house.

She got right to work putting that thing together.  By the afternoon that house was done!  It amazes me how well she can follow directions and put those Legos together!
In the afternoon, we had cousins Kate and Claire come for lunch and an afternoon of swimming.  Anne loves her cousins and we couldn't think of anything better than hanging out with them on her birthday.
In the evening we had Grandma and Grandpa Young and Schwitzer come for a birthday feast.  After we opened some more presents.  She got a new journal.
She got her scriptures and she has really been excited to get these!
And a scripture case purse to put the scriptures in.
That evening we also celebrated Mike's birthday since we were going to gone on his birthday.  I did a repeat present but, his other had gotten broken on accident.
We got him a new telescope.  This guy loves to look at the sky so, I knew that he was missing his old telescope.  This one I hope works just as well as the last!
I also got him a better lens to look at the moon and planets better.
I love this guy and I am so happy we are the same age again.  Mike is such a wonderful man and I am so happy he was born and that we grew up so close together.  Totally meant to be!!
We then lit Anne's cake with candles, sang happy birthday, and let her make a wish!
We love you Anne and hope you had a wonderful day!!

Valentines Day

We were off track this year on Valentines day.  So, I tried to make the day as fun as possible.  Anne was a little sick so we hung out at home and cooked some yummy treats.  I tried to do a fun Valentine hair do on my girls.  It's suppose to be a heart in their hair.  At least I tried right?
The kids woke up to Valentines from Mom and Dad.
 Chocolate strawberries were made.
Valentines for Mom and Dad were made.  We loved these cards!
My friend Lori gave me this cute little love bug for my birthday.  We each had a chance to write something nice for someone in the family.  We put our note in the love bug and then did service for that person.  The kids loved this and we had a great time showing our love for each other.
 A picture with my Valentine!
I always make a nice Valentine dinner.  So, Valentines was a success around here!

Back to the MTC

In February, Greg spoke to the missionaries in the MTC.  It was so much fun to go back and remember some of the feelings I had has a missionary.  It was fun to be there with Mike and we hope one day to go back together!  Greg gave an amazing talk to the missionaries.  I wish I would have heard his message as a missionary.  He talked about being a genuine missionary, to be involved and friendly to the people in your mission, and to follow the spirit in your teaching.  I looked around all the missionaries were writing his words frantically.  I know he help so many that day with his words.

The picture above is all of us that served missions.  Notice that Mike and Josh got to go to two missions!
It was fun to have the older grand-kids there and all of them are excited to go on missions of their own. It was a really neat evening.

Basketball 2013

Jason had a great season of basketball.  He had a really great coach and enjoyed the other boys on the team.  We are proud of the progress he made this year with his defense.  He was all over the place and also made some baskets to help his team to a win.  We love watching him and enjoy cheering him on!

 Going up for a shot.
 Awesome defense!

The Team.
