Schwitzer Christmas Family Home Evenings

For a couple of Monday nights we got together with the Schwitzer side to do some fun activities.  One FHE we headed down to the Church History Museum where they had fun Christmas activities that took us back to Pioneer times.
They had this fun old fashioned Santa and the kids got to sit on his lap.  Eliza told him that we wanted nail polish for Christmas.
They had fun pioneer toys and games throughout the museum and we got to try or make them all!

They even had this iPad sitting out where you could draw on a big screen.  The boys really liked that area!
After we headed over to City Creek to look around and look at the ZCMI windows.  The grandkids are making funny faces in this picture!

On another monday night we got together to eat, do the nativity scene, and have a Christmas talent show.  Lucy was in love with Ryan's Mickey Mouse hat and had to wear it during the Nativity.  She cracks me up!!

We had a great couple of nights with the cousins!

Happy 2nd Birthday Lucy!

Our little Lu Lu turned 2 and she has been singing Happy Birthday to herself for weeks.  Lucy is such a fun daughter and she adds so much to our family.  She is smart, funny, loves to sing, loves Elmo and Me Mouse ( Minnie Mouse).  She loves to be held and she will walk up to anyone if they will just hold her.  We are so happy Lucy came to our family 2 years ago!  Lucy is holding up 2 fingers in the picture above.

On Sunday night, we had Grandma and Grandpa Young and Schwitzer come for a birthday dinner.  Lucy fell asleep in Grandma Schwitzers arms.  She slept all through dinner and when we woke her up she was in a bad mood.
She, however, lit up when she got her new play kitchen!

She was pretty grumpy again when it was time to sing Happy Birthday!

On her real birthday we went out to dinner at Wingers.  Lucy loves the restaurant with popcorn.  We then headed downtown to see the Christmas lights on Temple Square.
We are loving the new City Creek Mall.  They have this nice fire we sat around and got warm.

They wanted their picture in this famous spot at the SL Temple.
This is always my favorite part of Temple Square.  I love the canopy of lights you walk under!
We love you Lucy and what a blessing you are to all of us!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had such a great Thanksgiving this year.  The picture above is our family on Thanksgiving day.  We had Thanksgiving this year with the Schwitzer side.  It was so nice to have Grandma and Grandpa Schwitzer home and to all be together again.
Before we ate, Grandpa gave us a thought and we sang some Thanksgiving hymns together.

Then we sat down to feast on all the yummy food.  JoAnn got all the kids on 2 big tables.
We got a picture of all the adults together.
 Lucy giving Grandma kisses.
The best part about the Schwitzer family is that the kids totally entertain us.  We sit in the family room and at random times we will get some sort of performance.  The first were the boys doing a fat boy dance.
I have to say that Will is the star of all the performances.  This kid can dance and it is so fun to watch!

Then the girl's performed a dance.  Anne is now old enough to be part of " Ladies Positions".

Will was the grand finale with this awesome jump!  We had such a fun night talking, watching the kids, and eating through out the day.

Reflections

Anne and Jason both put in Reflection entries this year.  They both wrote a poem.  Jason wrote a poem about golf and Anne wrote a poem about making friends at a new school.  Her poem got an honorary mention award.  She got a ribbon and she was so excited.  She kept saying this is the first time I have won anything!  It was so fun to watch.  Way to go Anne!  The picture above is Anne getting her ribbon from Principal Hanson.

Christmas Tree

We had fun one evening putting up the Christmas tree.  The tree is always such a process so, we do put it up a couple of days before Thanksgiving.  I love watching the kids hang their special ornaments and get excited for  Christmas.

Good job kiddos the tree looks beautiful!

November- Off Track

November we are off track from school.  We had 3 weeks off and it was really nice to have a break.  We tried to do some fun things to make the time off worth going to school in the Summer.  We got a pretty awesome snow the first weekend.  With Mike's help they built this pretty awesome snow fort.
One family night we went bowling at the new Sandy Lanes.  I almost beat Mike...which never happens but, he came back and won.  Jason beat me also!  The boys rule this game in our family.

While off track Lucy got her first black eye.  She fell off the couch and hit her eye on the side table.  It took it the whole 3 weeks to heal.
We headed over to the new Scheels store and went on the Ferris Wheel.  Lucy loved it and I had to beg Anne and Eliza to go.  They finally went, and were so happy they did, because it wasn't as scary as they thought it would be.
Anne showed us her mad shooting skills.  Do not mess with this girl!  You can tell Jason is just waiting to show her up!
We watched and went to movies, had Jimmy and Marcie over from our old Saratoga neighborhood,  we played with cousins, went swimming, stayed in our pajamas some days, made treats, went to parks, and enjoyed no homework for 3 weeks!  I think the kids are ready for school to start up again.  They miss their  friends and Mom misses a schedule.  I loved these 3 weeks with my kids!
